Training
for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) TIPS Training Suits Your Needs If you work at any establishment where alcohol is consumed
or sold, you will be pleased to know that Kingsley Associates is holding
local training sessions to assist servers and sellers of alcohol in the
prevention of illegal sales to underage and/or intoxicated patrons and the
prevention of drunk driving. TIPS workshops are tailored specifically to different kinds of establishments The TIPS On-Premise Workshop is for servers at restaurants, bars, hotels or any establishment where alcohol is consumed on-premise. Employees learn strategies for serving alcohol responsibly while providing improved customer service. The On-Premise Workshop lasts five hours. The TIPS Off-Premise Workshop addresses the sale of alcohol at grocery stores, convenience stores and package stores. Clerks learn to prevent illegal alcohol sales to underage or intoxicated patrons. The Off-Premise Workshop lasts three hours. Certified for 3 years upon successful completion of the TIPS program, these professionals work primarily within the hospitality industry, non-profit, local government, & educational institutions and including:
All
servers who attend these workshops are taught by certified TIPS trainers
who use video and printed materials for topics that include:
Participants will gain significant confidence as they learn:
The goal is for alcohol vendors/servers to recognize signs
of intoxication, prevent alcohol sales to minors, and intervene with
patrons who already are intoxicated. TIPS addresses situations encountered
every day, and is customized to meet state and local requirements and
individual vendor/server needs. During the server session, with its lively
interactive format, staffs learn practical, common sense approaches to
selling and/or serving alcohol responsibly in any setting, thus helping to
reduce liquor liability exposure. Training for Intervention ProcedureS by Servers of Alcohol Kingsley Associates strongly
encourages all servers and managers to take TIPs training, offered at many locations. To get the hottest jobs in the best clubs and restaurants,
it is often required that a server or bartender come in as a TIPs
certified professional. Many places won't even look at your resume if a
TIPs certification is not on it. (hint: if you have this, put it near the
TOP of your resume.) |
