The TIPS (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) program teaches servers, sellers and consumers of alcohol to prevent intoxication, drunk driving and underage drinking.
Our nine focused programs are taught by our certified TIPS trainers nationwide.

TIPS

If you work at any establishment where alcohol is consumed or sold, Kingsley Associates is holding local training sessions to assist servers and sellers of alcohol in the prevention of illegal sales to underage and/or intoxicated patrons and the prevention of drunk driving.

Participants will be certified in the Training for Intervention ProcedureS (TIPS) program, the leading national server training program.

What is a TIPs Server?

A TIPs server is anyone who attends any of the eight TIPS programs and learns how to prevent the misuse of alcohol. Servers attend TIPS sessions, conducted by our TIPS trainers, and are certified for a period of three years.

A server does not have to be someone who serves alcohol. We have certified students, parents, bouncers, valet parking staff, cashiers, police officers, insurance agents, front desk staff and just about anyone else you can think of as TIPS servers. Within the hospitality industry TIPS is the standard for server training programs.

Each TIPS session follows the same format. All the programs have Information, Skills Training and Practice/Rehearsal sections. Every server is trained to understand how to detect signs of intoxication, prevent the misuse of alcohol and intervene when someone has had too much to drink.

TIPS has certified over 1.2 million people as servers/students/sellers in 20 years. Each individual we certify receives a certification card with their information and an expiration date for the certification. TIPS keeps a record of everyone we train in our extensive databases.

Being certified as a server in TIPS can protect people in liquor liability lawsuits. Using the skills learned in the program can help people prevent the problems associated with alcohol misuse, and save lives.
